2 Samuel 22:29 (GW) “O LORD, you are my lamp. The LORD turns my darkness into light.”
In the Creation Story, we see that “darkness” is synonymous to NIGHT”, because the LORD God called the “light”, Day, and the “darkness” He called, Night (Gen. 1:5). Notice that it was only the light that the LORD God said, “It was good.” We can therefore say, DARKNESS, “it was BAD.” In the Bible, darkness is associated many times with negative things. For example, the Bible says, “… weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Psa. 30:5; KJV). So, darkness or night, can be associated with weeping or tears of pain and sorrow, while light or morning, can be associated with joy and gladness. This is the reason David prayed as he declared that the LORD turn his darkness (or sorrow) into light (joy and gladness).
May I declare that anything in your life causing you to shade tears of sorrow or pain, be turned into tears of joy and gladness, in the precious name of Jesus Christ. I declare war against the darkness of sorrow and pain in our lives, in Jesus’ name.
