Job 33:14,17,18 (KJV) “For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. [17] That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. [18] He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
Under the main theme of “Spiritual Sensitivity” I want to focus our attention on the importance of hearing, recognising, understanding, and accepting God’s voice. According to Job 33:14 & 17, one of the reasons God speaks “repeatedly” or “again and again” to man is “so that He may turn man away from his own purpose” (AFV). The Bible says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Pro 14:12). You may think you are on the right path in life, but you may just be on the wrong path. Are you pursuing God’s purpose and plans for your life, or your own plans? Have you ever cared to know from the Almighty God, His purpose and plans for your life? There might be those in our families whose souls are on the road into the pit of hell (Job 33:18), and there might be others whose lives are about to perish by a demonic sword (Job 33:18); may the voice of the Almighty God thunder in their ears and hearts, in Jesus precious name.
Now, according to the Message Bible, God speaks “to turn (men) back from something bad they’re planning, from some reckless choice, and keep them from an early grave, from the river of no return” (Job 33:14,17; MSG). In other words, the LORD warns us against hidden Satanic traps, dangers, and temptations, by His voice. Do you know that some persons have died prematurely because they did not pay attention to the voice of God through the various channels by which He speaks to us? Ignoring God’s voice to you may be very costly. Henceforth, we must give appropriate attention to the voice of God to us. God’s voice gives clarity in decision-making and prevents wrong steps (Psa. 32:8; Isa. 30:2).
