1Timothy 6:6 (KJV) “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
Simply put, godliness is about living a holy life in total devotion, dedication, consecration, and commitment to the LORD our God. There is great gain in living a godly life. Psalms 4:3 (KJV) tells us that “... the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself ...” Some other Bible versions puts it this way: “You can be sure that anyone who serves the LORD faithfully is special to him ...” (ERV); “Know that the LORD singles out godly people for himself” (GW); “Realize that the LORD shows the godly special favor ...” (NET); “May we never forget that the Lord works wonders for every one of his devoted lovers” (TPT).
