Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV) “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
After accepting Jesus Christ into our hearts as our Lord and personal Saviour, being “Born-Again”, there are two lifelong pursuits we must engage in – “Building an Ever-Growing Intimacy with God” and “Pursuing God’s Purpose and Plans for our lives.” in the next few weeks, we shall give attention to the pursuit of God’s purpose and plans for our lives. Our pursuits in life should align with God’s purpose for our lives, which becomes our MISSION here on earth.
The Almighty God has a “predetermined plan and intention” for His creation, and specifically, for each person’s life; that is what is called, “Divine Purpose.” Divine purpose can also be defined as “the reason God created something or someone, in alignment with His eternal will and glory.” Our existence is intentional, not accidental. Your life is not an accident; God intentionally formed you with meaning and mission.
Now, divine purpose cannot be “invented”; they are “discovered”. In our Scriptural text, the LORD God said to Jeremiah, “Before I formed thee in the belly … I ORDAINED thee a prophet unto the nations.” This was a revelation of God’s purpose for Jeremiah. Do you know clearly, God’s purpose for your life? Your true fulfilment in life is found only, in walking in that divine purpose and calling of your life. The first step in pursuit of God’s purpose is engaging in a prayer of ENQUIRY. Pray to God to reveal to you His purpose for your life. It is never too late to discover God’s purpose for your life.
