Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV) “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
Divine purpose is God’s eternal design for our lives; a plan that aligns our existence with His will, glory, and kingdom agenda. To discover and fulfil it is the highest calling of every believer in Christ Jesus. The Bible says, “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (NIV). Hallelujah!
Yesterday, we said divine purpose is not invented; it is discovered, sometimes, in a time of prayer of enquiry. Divine purpose is also revealed through the Word of God. Every divine purpose must align with the Holy Scripture. For example, the LORD God confirmed an aspect of His purpose for my life through the Scriptural text: “I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee” (Psa. 22:22). It was a supernatural encounter with God’s word during a time of prayer of enquiry, in which the LORD God revealed His purpose for my life in the area of “Worship & Music.”
It is important to note that God does not reveal His full plan for a person’s life all at once; He reveals them progressively, step by step, as we walk in obedience and fellowship with Him. So, divine purpose unfolds like a journey, not a destination revealed at once. Therefore, we must be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit per time. In every day of our lives, we must walk in the awareness that we are created for a divine assignment. Hallelujah!
