James 4:11 (KJV) “Speak not evil one of another, brethren ...”
Someone that speaks evil of another person is called a slanderer or a backbiter. Backbiting or slandering is an act of character defamation, which is the act of saying “false statements” about a person that causes damage to the character of the person. Don't say unpleasant things that are not true about others! The Bible says, “Anyone who spreads gossip is a fool” (Prov. 10:18; GNB). Another Bible version says, “you are a fool to spread lies” (CEV); such person is never to be trusted.
