Deu 7:9 (KJV) “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.”
Today, I begin a series of teachings on “WHO” we ought to BE. This series is tagged, “I OUGHT TO BE …” It is focused on what the Almighty God expects of all His children. We ought to be FAITHFUL just as our heavenly Father is faithful. The Almighty God is “the faithful God” (Deu 7:9). To be faithful, as understood from our Scriptural text, is to “keep to the terms of a covenant, an agreement, a promise, a contract, a vow”. This is why when a man breaks a marriage vow, we say he is “unfaithful”. One importance of being faithful is that it makes a man trustworthy, and trustworthiness is a cornerstone of every strong relationship, both personal and professional. Someone has said, "We are sure to get opportunities as we show ourselves capable of being trusted.”
