Isaiah 49:24 (KJV) “Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
The first step to dealing with negative ancestral covenants is engaging in prayer to the Almighty God for the Holy Spirit to expose patterns and root covenants in your lineage. You cannot break what you do not discern or what you deny. Believe me, ancestral covenants are real. Secondly, repent on behalf of your family line; this is biblical (Neh 1:6; Dan 9:3–6). Then, renounce every ancestral covenant made by your parents, grandparents, or ancestors; revoke them by the blood of Jesus Christ and in the name of Jesus Christ. Evil spirits respect your words because covenants were originally established by words. Furthermore, invoke the superior covenant of the blood of Jesus. The Bible says, “the blood of Jesus speaks better things” (Heb. 12:24). You are not just breaking old covenants; you are establishing a superior one.
Now, after breaking negative ancestral covenants and patterns, it is important that we replace them with kingdom covenants. You cannot leave a vacuum. Be intentional in entering positive covenants through a life of absolute obedience to God’s commands and the dedication of your life, home, business, marriage to God. Maintain a lifestyle of freedom through living by the Word of God, keeping your spiritual fire alive and guarding your gates (mind, relationships, associations). The Bible tells us to “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage” (Gal 5:1; KJV). Deliverance is not only an event; it is a lifestyle.
