Ecclesiastes 9:10 (AFV) “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no work, nor plan, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave where you go.”
Dearly beloved, our lives on earth is timed. The Psalmist prayed saying, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom (Psa. 90:12; KJV). In some other Bible versions it says, “Teach us to use wisely all the time we have” (CEV); “Teach us how short our lives are so that we can become wise” (ERV). Our days on earth are numbered, therefore, whatever our hands find to do, or whatsoever our hands are able to do, we must do it earnestly, with all diligence and commitment. Why? Because in the world of the dead, no one works. We must do whatsoever our hands are able to do as if it is our last and only chance at it. Also, remember that diligence pays (Prov. 22:29). It is wisdom to identify all our God-given graces and abilities, and focus our time and energy on them, giving them all we’ve got in pursuit of God’s purpose and plans. Help me so to do, my Father and my God.
