Psalm 57:6 “They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.”
Psalm 57 was written by David when he fled from King Saul and hid in a cave. In our text David said, “They have prepared a net for my steps ...” A “net” symbolizes a trap or secret plan meant to cause someone to stumble or fail. Spiritually, it represents the hidden snares of the enemy. The Bible says, “Surely He shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler” (Psa. 91:3). Sometimes people or forces work secretly to cause your downfall. But God sees every hidden net. May the LORD our God expose every trap or secret plan of the enemy intended to cause your downfall, in the name of Jesus.
Now, David said, “They have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves” (Psalm 57:6). This describes what we may call “divine reversal” — the enemies’ evil plans backfire. What they meant for David’s harm turned to their own destruction. When God fights for you, the traps set against you become the instruments of your enemies’ downfall. That was exactly what happened to Haman. The Bible says, “So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai” (Esther 7:10). May this be our testimony also, in Jesus’ name.
