2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV) [16] “All scripture is given by inspiration of God ... [17] That the man of God may be PERFECT ...”
The Lord our God has blessed us with “all Scripture” so that we may be “PERFECT”. The Greek word translated “Perfect” in the King James Version of the Bible is artios. It also means, to be COMPLETE. In the context of our study, to be COMPLETE will mean, to have all the necessary or appropriate “godly virtues” or “godly qualities” required of a “MAN OF GOD” or a “CHILD OF GOD.” There are certain godly qualities that may be missing in our lives; we must identify them and add them to our lives through the study of God’s Word. Apostle Peter shows us the godly qualities we must add to our faith (2 Peter 1:5-9); they are: virtue (or integrity, that is, moral excellence), knowledge, temperance (that is, self-control), patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity or love. These qualities will make us complete or perfect (100%).
