2Co 5:15 (KJV) “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again”.
Everyone on earth is living for something or someone. There are others who live for themselves. But our Scriptural text tells us that the most important person we must all live for is, the Lord Jesus Christ. To live for Jesus Christ is to make Him the most important focus of our lives. This implies seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Mat. 6:33). We are not to be self-centred, living only to satisfy our personal desires, ambitions, or comforts. So, the Bible tells us that “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” (1Co 10:31). Stop making life revolve around your self-interest, selfish ambition, or self-gratification.
To live for Jesus Christ will include using our time, energy, and gifts to His glory. To live for Jesus at your work place would mean doing your work diligently and honestly, as though Jesus Himself is your boss (Col. 3:17). To live for Jesus Christ in this sick and wicked world would mean not joining others in corruption or dishonest practices, but standing firm in righteousness, even if it costs your life. If you truly want to live for Christ Jesus, then, every of your decisions must now run through this filter: “Does this honour Christ, or is it just about me?”
