Isaiah 5:20 (KJV) “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil …”
This verse is part of the prophet Isaiah’s warning against the sins of Judah (Southern kingdom). He says, “woe unto them that call evil good …” What does it mean to call evil, good? It means, to justify sinful behaviour, making it appear acceptable. Many sinful behaviours have crept into the Church today in the name of modernization. In some Churches, culture has redefined morality. Today, many societies openly justify and celebrate sexual practices such as fornication (sex before marriage), adultery, pornography, and homosexuality. I watched a pastor preaching who said, men should test their wives-to-be, sexually before marriage, even quoting from the Bible to justify his argument. What a shame!
Some media houses celebrate LGBTQ+ practices as normal. Abortion is justified as “women’s rights” or “reproductive health.” Dishonesty, fraud, and corruption, is now justified as “hustling,” “being sharp,” or “survival strategy.” Occult practices and witchcraft is now called “spirituality,” “ancestral wisdom,” or “manifesting energy.” The list goes on and on. What God calls sin, people now call freedom or personal choice. There is now what is known as “moral relativism”, that is, the idea that right and wrong can be redefined by human opinion. Beloved what is wrong, is wrong; evil is evil anywhere. Beware of those who deliberately twist moral values.
